Tsuki no akari

Tsuki no akari website

https://www.tsuki-akari.jp

Project overview

Tsuki-akari is a company that arranges funerals and owns many ceremony halls. For each ceremony hall there were separate websites. We wanted all the ceremony halls to merge into one website, because the ceremony halls belong to the same company.

About Tsuki no Akari

Tsuki-akari's mission was to provide the best ceremony hall in Tokyo. They wanted to create a customer-friendly space where families can relax and talk to each other and say the last goodbye to their loved one. .

Client's Problem

As Tsuki-akari were expanding their business and opening up ceremony halls in different locations, they wanted to merge their many websites into one. They wanted their website to be informative yet heart-warming. We wanted to provide the best place for customers to say the last goodbye to their loved one.

Business research

  • Researched about funeral ceremony halls
  • Researched about family-sized funeral halls
  • Research about funeral service

    Questions we had:

  • What makes funeral ceremony halls feel warm-hearted?
  • How is Tsuki-akari compared to their competitor?
  • The good and the bad about competitors' websites?
  • How can we make new customers feel satisfied choosing our service?
  • How can we ask previous customers to recommend us?

User research

Participant: 10 people who have used ceremony halls service, 10 people who have not yet used

  • How did you like the ceremony halls and its service?
  • What information was missing on the website?
  • What made you choose this company?
  • What did you wish the ceremony hall had and hadn't?

Result from the research

Customer wanted to have...

  • a website to understand the sorrow we are having.
  • We want a family-friendly ceremony hall where everyone can have the chance to relax and talk to each other.
  • We need customer service that can empathise with our feelings.
  • We want to be able to talk or chat to the staff and ask questions right away.
  • We want to see the images of how it looks inside the ceremony halls.

Solution

Our solution was to focus on building a website that could empathise with customers what they are going through. We do this by opening up the website with a video background that brings them back to the time and we embrace using a bold and soft design. These are the pages we included on the site: Location of the halls, different halls that suit your family, funeral plans, price and details, the steps to take when a loved one passed away and how tsuki-akari can help.

Result

From the new website we successfully gained more trust and resulted in 10% increase customer. People visited our website and then decided to book for consultation, which they then decided to use our service.
